Browse the Historic Map Works Collection

Using our interactive map you can browse all of the historical images in the Historic Map Works collection; antiquarian maps and cadastral maps, maritime charts, illustrations, histories and others. Use the world map below to start browsing by selecting a continent: North America (U.S. States and Canada), Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, or Asia. You can then refine your search by selecting a country, state, or province and then a city or town. To view antiquarian maps and atlases that cover the world dating from the 1400's to the 1900's, click the maps and atlases of the world button below the map.

For example, if you were looking for a cadastral map showing land ownership in Little Falls, New Jersey around the year 1877, you'd click on North America in the world map, then New Jersey in the United States map, then Passaic County 1877 under the list of historic atlases in New Jersey, then on the Little Falls Township plate within the atlas. You will then have a variety of features available to you for that map including panning and zooming, printing, and saving.
