Significance: This house is among the first constructed by the Federal government in developing in the Klamath Basin Project. The A Canal and its headworks are the first Federal diversion from Upper Klamath Lake. The A Canal is pivotal to the development of the irrigation system and the agricultural economic base operating within the Klamath Basin. The A Canal Headworks House served as the residence for workers who controlled releases into the A Canal.
